MODERN West

The Ministry Of Dancing Essenes, Rechabites, Nazarites (M.O.D.E.R.N.) was a Christian dance ministry that started rehearsing in February 1996, and had hundreds of performances before disbanding in 2004 (when the founder relocated to Nevada). Not only did they sing and dance to pre-recorded music, but original compositions as well. They also choreographed & performed to the music of live choirs and other musical groups. They developed choreographed monologues, both with and without musical accompaniment. They had some members who had danced for over 30 years (who chose to work with MODERN for a variety of reasons) and others who had never danced at all (usually Christians who just wanted to try a new-nique, fun way of worshipping Christ). They also allowed Non-Christians as apprentices, fully believing that God would find a way for MODERN to be a blessing to them and vice-versa. They embraced anyone that was willing to put forth the message of Christ via the arts. Their millennial name change to "MODERN Movement Ministries" reflected growth in ministry areas other than dance and choreography.

The original founder/director has been led of God to start a similar ministry in NW Nevada, and is using MODERN West as a startup name for the performing group. The parent organization, which will handle administration and organizational duties, will be known as MODERN Movement Ministries West.
